Rock Garden

Those of us who live in the glacial hills around the Boston basin sometimes have to deal with bare rock ledge in our yards. It's a lovely opportunity to plant things that thrive in rock crevices and thin acidic soil: wineleaf potentilla, corydalis, ferns, lowbush blueberries, mosses, and miniature evergreens. I take inspiration from the wild mountaintops of the Northeast, and from Japanese garden design.

Next project: Woodland garden
